1974 New Boathouse
The land on which the original boathouse was built was owned by the LNER Railway company and later by British Rail. The club had a 99 year lease on the land which ultimately expired and in 1974 the club was forced to relocate to a site on which the present boathouse was then built.
The new boathouse occupies a site of some 4000 square metres situated on the west bank of River Witham some 1000 metres upstream from the original site.
1999 National Time Trials
In December 1999 the club was pleased to be chosen as the venue for the National trials for the U K men’s squad prior to the 2000 Olympics. With these progressing well the GB Squad returned again for their 2000/2001 season Assessments, with the Junior Squad also hosting their trials at the club.
The Club is delighted that both squads continue to hold their assessments at the boathouse, which normally take place in the months of October, November, December & February.2001 Crew Complete Double Marathon

2008 New Filippi Eight
This year the club for the first time in its history purchased a brand new eight. Over the years the club has purchased many eights, some of which were older than most of the crew members in them, then, when the last eight got damaged beyond repair during the women's head of the river, the whole membership decided it was time, a brand new eight was needed. Although it has taken numerous years, and a lot of hard work to raise the money required, the arrival of new filippi eight makes all the effort worthwhile.
